Love Letters From the Diaspora: An Evening of Storytelling, Poetry and Love!

  • Alcove Beltline Canada 1040 8 Street Southwest Calgary, Alberta, T2R 1K2 Canada (map)

Love Letters From the Diaspora is a Calgary Culture Days event presented by The Fourth Space, showcasing love stories from different cultures and culminating in an open mic where people can share the stories, songs, and traditions of love from their own backgrounds. When asked to name a great love story, most people think of Romeo and Juliet. We want to widen that frame and make space for the traditions less often highlighted, the ones carrying rich histories of love in their folklore. Artists from a range of cultures will share storytelling experiences, opening the floor for an audience to bring their own.
